Yesterday morning Kreid was seen at the pediatrician for some congestion and shortness of breath. He was diagnosed with RSV and an ear infection. He was prescribed an inhaler and an antibiotic to try to clear some of the congestion, and to battle the ear infection. He was doing better last night, but later this morning he began to really struggle to get a breath. His respiration rate was over 60 (which I just learned the night before, online that that was a bad thing). I wasn't sure if I should take him back in or just be patient. Then he got clammy and turned a gray-ish color. I figured that couldn't be good, so I rushed him to the emergency room, expecting fully that they would give him a breathing treatment and send us on our way. Instead I was told he might have pneumonia, that the breathing treatments weren't helping and that he was still wheezing, and that they would likely admit him. Oh yeah, and did I mention that Rob is away for work? As if I weren't frantic enough, I became overwhelmed. The good thing, is that they would monitor him constantly, which meant I wouldn't be faced with that horrible decision of whether or not to bring him back in again.
So after a chest x-ray, an IV, and some bloodwork, we are finally admitted (six hours later). He does not have pneumonia, but the breathing treatments are not helping clear the congestion, apparently. I am glad we are here and they can keep a close eye on him. He seems to be doing better already. His levels are all within normal, but he is still working hard to keep them that way. Thankfully, he's a little fighter!! ;) So best case scenario, he's cleared up tomorrow and we go home. If not, we might be here a little longer. Thankfully, Rob works for the BEST unit in the Army, and they are sending him home first thing in the morning.

I wanted to send out one mass update because I hadn't even managed to tell some people, and my thumbs feel like they are bruised from sending so many text messages today. Ha! Continued prayers for his recovery are greatly appreciated, and THANK YOU to all those who have been soooo supportive through this and offered more help than I could receive. I appreciate it more than you know. I will continue to update here on the blog if anything changes, but for the time being, I will be resting, just like my little man.
Love to you all!
