Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Mekyla loves that song. And now, I crack up every time I hear it or even think of it, because one day, it was playing and Mekyla, as serious as can be, looks at me and says, "you know, it's true, Mom". I just sort of gaze back her with an obvious question..."what's true?" "Girls DO just wanna have fun," she responded. I love that girl.

Well, I decided that since I would become completely invisible in the near future (when her knight in camo armor returns) I would plan a little girl's night, just me and her. Kreid was off having a blast building forts with his cousin, Deryck and Mekyla and I went out to have all that fun she was telling me about.

Our first stop was the nail shop. My sweet friend, Amie got Mekyla a gift certificate for her birthday. "Somehow" it disappeared in her room back in March, when she received it. Just in the nick of time though, I found it last week. So we treated ourselves to pedicures.

After our pedicures, we met up with Kelly and Mercy (who were also on a mommy-daughter date) and had a very fancy, elegant dinner...at Cici's Pizza Buffet. HA! Sadly, Kelly and I devoured some pizza, which is a big no-no, since we are "eating clean". It's okay though, I'm certain we've worked it all off. :)

After dinner, we headed to Austin Peay to see a performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella.

What a great night! It was nice knowin' ya, Mekyla. ;)
