Making Christmas Traditions...

I know, I know...worst blogger ever. I'll catch up with fall pictures and fun later, but for now, let's get really excited about Christmas (we definitely are at the Smith house) and celebrate!

All month, we've been reading this sweet Christmas book that highlights Jesus' birth and talking about how we can be sure to keep Jesus as our focus during Christmas. So this morning, we read it and I asked the kids how we could celebrate Jesus' birth. Xzayvier suggested lots of prayers of thanksgiving for the birth of Jesus and Mekyla suggested we make Jesus a "happy birthday" banner. So we started our day thanking God for Jesus and then headed to the table to get crafty. Everyone participated...even Daddy, and we had a lot of fun. Here's our finished product...

While we were looking at the banner, we started throwing out words that went with each letter. "P" for prophet, "S" for savior, shepherd, "H" for Hosanna, Holy...and the list went on. So we went back to the table and started to make words that describe our sweet Jesus to add to the fun.

Jesus is
He is our... and our
He is the
The good... He is

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

 Love,
The Smith Family
